Ethan and Pele

I'd like to introduce you to my nephew Ethan.

"E" is a ball of energy who is always on the go. Even when he's still his mouth is still going.

He never ceases making me laugh!

He and my sister came over for a BBQ and he brought his soccer ball. So he, Sean and I kicked the ball around.

Sean, trying to "bend it like Beckam," accidently hit Ethan in the stomach. Just take a closer look at the picture and you can see the marks from the soccer ball.

After we extruded the ball from Ethan's stomach we were able to laugh about it.

Memorial Day Weekend Project

We spent our Memorial Day weekend expanding out patio. Here's some pictures of our adventures.

We started late Friday night. The original patio was 8'x14'. Our plan was to take the old patio tiles out, expand the size of the patio and place all new tiles.

We were EXTREMELY blessed by friends and family. Darren and Mandy offered up their services, we borrowed Zach's truck, Shannon and Elliot stopped by and we put Elliot to work.

Sean and Tessa stopped by to bring us some Gatorade. So we put them to work too!

The supplies: 51 patio tiles (91 lbs each) and 46 bags of base (50 lbs each). Add up those lbs and that's 6,941 lbs that we moved in 2 trips.

It was "Africa" hot the entire weekend. We sweated a lot!

We rented a tamper for a couple hours. It made what the loose dirt, hard and compacted. Once I figured out how to use the machine this went smoothly.

Laying the tiles was a lot of work. We tried to level each tile. Most are solid but a few still have a wobble to them. Too late now!

Finished product!!!
